At night, the pipes in my room often expand--or do something, I'm sorry if my plumbing knowledge is deficient--and, in the process of doing so, make quite a bit of noise. I will be sitting here writing something and these surprisingly loud banging sounds will suddenly start up. I've lived in this room since August, and it still startles me a little bit.
